TERMS, Conditions AND Security

1.  Valid tickets
  • Ticket prices are in Australian dollars.
  • All ticket sales are final and non-refundable.
  • All ticket prices are exclusive of 10% GST (GST is not applicable to this event).
  • For online purchases, your credit card will be charged under the name 'Drolkar Buddhist Centre'.
  • We must be able to verify your ticket purchase at security checkpoint on arrival at the teachings. Please bring your ticket and photo ID (current driver's license or other form of current photo identification).
  • Your ticket is your proof of purchase and so must be presented at the time of admission. 
  • Tickets are not transferable and non-refundable, however, if you are unable to attend, please contact the office to ensure your ticket is changed to the name of the person who will be attending instead of you. A $5 fee will apply. Name changes (transferrable tickets) will no longer be accepted from 6pm on18th June 2013.
  • Tickets cannot be sold on by any means.
  • You will incur an additional $5 processing and handling fee per ticket, if you order tickets by mail or phone.
  • If you order tickets by phone or mail, please allow 15 working days for your return mail.
  • Teaching times are scheduled from 9.30am–11.30am and 1.00pm–3.00pm.

2.  Valid entry

Event organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to any person who:
  • cannot produce a valid ticket and photo identification
  • presents a ticket that has been duplicated.
Ticket orders will be cancelled if cheques are dishonoured or credit card funds are unavailable. 

Failure to comply with all the Security Guidelines outlined below will deem the ticket holder ineligible to enter.

3.  Lost, stolen, or destroyed ticket
If your ticket has been destroyed, lost, or stolen before the teachings start, please contact the office on 03 9844 5379. A new ticket can be issued prior to the event and the original ticket will be cancelled (a small fee will apply).

4.  No refund policy
The teachings will be held in any weather conditions. The organisers reserve the right to change the program as required by circumstances and conditions without notice at any time. In the event that the teachings are cancelled, no refunds will apply.

5.  Event organisers will not refund or replace any tickets or distributed wristbands when
  • the ticket holder is unable to, or chooses not to, attend the event
  • the ticket has been duplicated
  • the day wristband pass is lost, damaged, forged, or stolen.

6.  Children
All children must have a valid ticket and remain under the care of the parents at all times. No strollers are allowed.

7.  Venue
The Quang Minh Temple is a beautiful and sacred space. For the comfort and safety of all, we request you enter the temple grounds and spaces in an orderly and quiet manner. Tickets are numbered with section, row and seat numbers, and will be colour coded to match your wristband. Ushers will escort you to your seat.

At times there will be queues and we acknowledge this can be frustrating. Everyone appreciates your patience and understanding.

8.  Security guidelines
  • Security screening will be required at all entry points. 
  • All participants must present the following items at the security check-point: a photo ID (current driver’s license or other current photo identification and your printed ticket matching your photo ID).
  • Storage areas will not be provided – please refrain from bringing large bags or backpacks.
  • No outside food or beverage will be allowed into the venue.
  • Expect traffic and parking delays, so arrive early. Security gates will open two hours prior to commencement of teachings.
  • These items will not be allowed into the venue or teachings: glass containers or bottles, cans, alcohol, illegal drugs, cutlery, pocket tools, scissors, animals (other than service dogs), strollers, umbrellas, posters, or signs.
  • We reserve the right to confiscate prohibited items and refuse entry without refund.
  • Security staff have the right to search personal property of ticket holders for safety reasons.
  • No audio or video recording of teachings is permitted. Recording items will not be allowed into the venue.
  • No backstage access is permitted.
  • It is not possible to have an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama before, during lunch or at the end of the teachings.
  • The event organiser has the right to film, photograph and audio record this event; attendees may be filmed, photographed or audio recorded incidentally during the event.
  • Mobile phones are permitted, but must be turned off during the event. Attendees are not allowed to record His Holiness the Dalai Lama's teachings and may be escorted from the venue if not in compliance with posted security guidelines.
  • One clear plastic bottle of water per guest is permitted. Please help our recycling efforts by using the appropriate rubbish containers.
  • Any other items at the discretion of the security screeners that may pose a potential safety hazard.

9.  Protocol

Please observe these guidelines for behaviour around His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His entourage and all Sangha.
  • Walk behind or to the side, not in front of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His entourage or any Sangha. Allow them to go through doors and enter first, before you.
  • Acknowledge the presence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His entourage or any Sangha with a smile and slightly bowed head. In addition Buddhists should fold their Hands.
  • Please stand whenever His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His entourage or any Sangha leave the room.
  • Sit down after His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His entourage or any Sangha are seated.
  • Do not interrupt His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His entourage or any Sangha when they are speaking.
  • Refrain from any intentional physical contact with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His entourage or any Sangha.
  • Avoid stepping over Dharma items, placing them on the floor, or placing items on top of them.
  • Do not approach members of the Sangha or official guests.
  • Please do not photograph or film His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His entourage or any Sangha.
